The Space
Colbiri 1 is a beautiful 2-bedroom unit perched on the hillside in the Las Palmas neighborhood. With both a covered front porch overlooking the pool and a covered back patio, the unit has an incredible amount of space and amazing amenities.
This main floor condo opens to a spacious living room and updated kitchen. The living space has a comfortable couch and smart TV plus lighting fast 300+Mbps internet speeds. Beyond is an updated and fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar seating for 3. The kitchen has full-size stainless steel appliances, small appliances and all the amenities of home. Beyond the kitchen is a covered and screened back patio that spans the length of the condo. Cook up your catch on the propane BBQ and dine or enjoy a games night on the dining table that seats 6.
Off the living room is the first bedroom with a super comfortable queen bed and 3-piece ensuite bathroom. Off the kitchen area is a hallway with a stacked washer/dryer, another 3-piece bathroom and the second bedroom with queen bed. Each bedroom has plenty of clothes storage and an in-room safe. The back bedroom also has a small desk, perfect for teleworkers!

The Location
Colibri is a small development of only 12 units sitting just 200m from two large plazas (Pueblito Norte and Pueblito Sur) that are home to many fantastic restaurants, a coffee shop, a grocery store, a day spa, a medical office, and more! Cross the street and you’re on the beach path, just another 1-minute walk to the beautiful sand of Coco Beach. You’ll find many, many more restaurants as well as shops, a casino, and 3 large grocery stores in Downtown Coco, just a 10-minute walk from your door. Many guests find getting around on foot is easy, but some choose to rent golf carts or cars for their stay. There is plenty of shared parking at the complex.
Playas del Coco is just a 25-minute drive from Guanacaste Airport (LIR). Several supermarkets, fruit vendors, and more restaurants, bars, and shops to count. Enjoy a walk along the beach boardwalk or stroll the beach from point to point for a 3km walk. Many scuba diving, sport fishing, and sightseeing tours depart from Coco. You’re also close to several area day trip spots – waterfalls, hiking, hot springs, and mud baths, cultural experiences, and river tours. Summary: Our family of four enjoyed our week at Colibri 1. There were no reviews so that made us a bit nervous. The condo was what we expected based on the info and pictures. We chose a location that was walkable to attractions but not in a super busy area. Las Palmas neighborhood we found to be quiet in the evenings. There was no noise from neighbours. The walk to downtown Coco is on a fairly busy narrow road. We managed fine going back and forth but our kids are 10 and 12 and we are all physically fit. If we had stayed longer term or had anyone in the group younger or older I would want a golf cart to get around. A small grocery store is easy to walk to (1.5 or 2 blocks) and has all of the basics. The larger grocery stores are further away and you will want a cab to return with bags of groceries. We cooked meals at the condo and found it to be well equipped for basic meal prep and enjoyed the screened in patio. Beds were super comfortable memory foams. A/C kept us cool for sleeping. We enjoyed coffee on the front patio every morning. The awening proved to be useful at certain times of the day. We felt very safe and secure in this location. The pool area is very basic. We enjoyed a dip with our kids every morning and evening. There are some tiles coming loose on the bottom of the pool and will require repair at some point soon. The grounds keepers were seen there everyday and kept the area tidy and clean. Negatives- coffee maker is slow. We would return to this condo again.
