Positive: Mario the owner is so hospitable and couldn't have done more to welcome us and make sure we had all that we needed. We didn't have children with us, but if we had they would have been in heaven with all the little touches to make them feel right at home including teddy bear themed additions and swings. The views of lake Como and mountains beyond from the apartment are breath-taking. There is a lovely Trattoria 5 minutes walk away that serves great local cuisine. 15 minutes walk down the 2000 year old roman cobbled street and you are at the lakeside with a few shops, some lovely restaurants and a sunset walk along the promenade. The villa is set amidst a historic mix of houses and villas that are accessed via narrow paths and winding hill roads . The private car parking facility was very convenient.

Negative: Perhaps renting a slightly smaller car would have made it easier to drive the roads. However Mario gave us excellent directions from Milan that helped us to navigate a wider road into the villa.

Summary: Great host, lovely location at a thoughtfully and very well appointed villa
