Situated in a typical alpine hamlet in the village of St. Jean d’Aulps, near Morzine (Portes du Soleil), Chalet Christiania offers 7 en-suite bedrooms, 2 of which have interconnecting doors, sleeping 14. Fabulous in both Summer and Winter. The large communal space on the ground floor consists of spacious lounge with log fire, bar, French doors to garden and hot tub. Satellite TV with DVD player. There is a second TV room, ideal for “the children” (and Dads who like to watch the rugby!) with games, books and DVD library. A separate dining room with large oak table, comfortably seats 14, a downstairs cloakroom and separate fully equipped kitchen with two large fridge/freezers and large Smeg Oven with induction hob. There is a large ski room in the cellar and plenty of off road parking.
Summer:
Many beautiful mountain paths are directly accessible from the chalet for those who enjoy walking and hiking. It is one of the most popular areas for mountain biking, with the well known downhill in Les Gets being 20 minutes away. The area boasts two beautiful lakes within 15 minutes drive, where there are most water sports offered. Canyoning, kayaking, white water rafting, zip wires through trees and many other activities can be found within the area. Both the Tour de France and Harley Owners Days regularly stage their events in Morzine.
Winter:
Just 5 minutes by road, allows access to the little known about “ jewel in the crown”, Roc d’Enfer ski region, which is an independent area providing formidable off piste opportunities and ESF ski school. Various access points to the vast area of Portes du Soleil, with over 1000km of pistes are only 10 - 15 minutes by road, via Ardent (Avoriaz/Chatel/Switzerland) and le Pleney (Morzine/ Les Gets) .
The centre of St. Jean d’Aulps is a 5 minute walk, where you can find a selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, together with a supermarket, pharmacy, sport shops and ATM.
