Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: During our stay, the host Jean Pierre was living in the small attached building. He is exceptionally kind and welcoming and will give you hiking tours, start a large bon fire or let you chop some extra fire wood and probably help you out with anything else that would come to mind. The area is super quiet and remote and you have some pretty hikes directly from the Chalet. The quietness in winter when no one speaks is itself an experience to city people like us. Despite it's serene remoteness the main necessities such as bakery, fromagerie and a larger super market are only a short drive away. We've been here with a group of 9 people and all had decent mattresses. It's the perfect place for a calm hideaway. Also, we got surprised by about 30cm of snow over night and though we made it out fine on just winter tires, you would be better off with snow chains in the winter season.

Negative: Four of the beds are in what's likely meant to be children's rooms and you have to go through one of the two single-bed rooms to get into the room with the bunk bed. We slept there as adults and they are big enough and the mattresses are fine but if you are 2m tall, that just might be something to keep in mind. Also, the kitchen is excellent and has anything you could ask for. But if you are planning to cook a lot you might consider bringing your own sharp knife and if you plan to cook for 8-10 people you might wonna bring an extra large pot, too. Though I am sure, Jean Pierre would have arranged either if we had asked for it.
