Relax and unwind in this wonderful quinta (farmhouse) situated in a peaceful part of the Western Algarve, away from the more touristy areas, yet a short drive to the beaches on both the southwestern Algarve and west coast and a mere 10 minute drive to the famous town of Lagos.
This cosy farmhouse of approximately 180m2 (1800 square feet) is composed of a huge living room with comfortable sofas and with a well-equipped open plan kitchen with a seating area enough to sit 8-10 people. It furthermore has one master bedroom with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom with sink, toilet and bathtub/shower; another spacious bedroom with both a queen-size bed and a comfy queen-sized sofabed plus a smaller bedroom with a double bed where an extra single bed can be placed alongside if necessary. The second bathroom has a toilet, large step-in shower and sink. The windows of all spaces open to a garden with mature trees. The space is decorated as a proper home with sturdy and rustic furniture, since the owner lives here during the winter months.
The living room opens to a large veranda with an outside dining table and chairs, and an outdoor sofa area. You will have access to the whole house and garden. There is a BBQ area as well and you will be able to sit out under the stars and have a charcoal BBQ. The owner will provide a big bag of charcoal for you during your stay.
The garden is massive with trees, bushes and flowers and a big lawn. There are hammocks, hanging chairs, deckchairs and sun loungers to take full advantage of the peace and tranquillity that surrounds the house and the garden. At night, enjoy the peace and quiet of this rural location and fall asleep to the sound of the crickets. You might find you don’t want to leave….
The area offers lots of outdoor activities from surfing, windsurfing, kite-surfing to kayaking, cliff and -country-walks. There is also a golf course nearby. The owner is an avid windsurfer and was born in the area. He knows everything from the best surfing beaches to fantastic cliff walks in the area, to great local restaurants and to where get the best olives and the freshest fish in the Lagos markets. Nearby and within walking distance of the house is the small town of Barao Sao Joao with some restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and a unique Bohemian ambiance.
