Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Unique, historic property, lovingly restored by owners who have spent a fortune renovating original frescoes and filling the mansion with wonderful antique furniture. Rooms are huge, immaculately presented, and hosts are genuine, friendly couple with an astonishing story to tell about their project. It’s worth staying there just for that.

Negative: Location is undeniably an issue. Ideally you need a car - otherwise it’s a full 40 minute trek to the old town, some parts along main roads. The area itself is fine with local restaurants and bars nearby - but it’s not like staying in the heart of magnificent Verona. Breakfasts were good but limited choice.
