Surroundings:
Alvor is located between Portimão and Lagos. The village itself is located about 1km from the beach inland on an extensive lagoon, the Rio de Alvor. Since the beach with its tourist facilities is a bit out of town, the village has retained its original character. Narrow streets with typical Portuguese houses characterize the townscape. If you walk through the village to the west you get to the lagoon. Here is the fishing port with its colorful boats and its fish hall. The local beach, Praia de Alvor, can easily be reached on foot. He is also accessible by car, parking directly on the beach are available. The kilometer-long white sandy beach is bordered to the east by rocks.
